介護休業制度

Family care leave/Family nursing leave

育児・介護休業法により、労働者が家族の介護を理由に仕事を休むことができる制度のこと。申請条件や日にちの合計などは決まっている。原則として事業主は申請を断ることができないため、介護を理由に仕事を辞める必要がない。

This refers to a system that allows workers to take time off from work in order to care for their family under the Act on Childcare Leave, Caregiver Leave, and Other Measures for the Welfare of Workers Caring for Children or Other Family Members. The conditions to apply (for the leave) and the total number of days off are fixed. In principle, the employer cannot decline the application, so there is no need to quit the job because of long-term care.
