Law of Prevention of Elder Abuse
高齢者への虐待を「身体的虐待」「介護放棄」「心理的虐待」「性的虐待」「経済的虐待」の5つに分けた。家庭内や高齢者施設で虐待が疑われる事例を発見した場合は、すぐに市町村に知らせなければならない。2006年施行。
This law categorized elder abuse into the following five categories: ‘physical abuse’, ‘neglect’, ‘emotional abuse’, ‘sexual abuse’, and ‘financial abuse’. It makes it mandatory to report immediately to a municipality when any suspected elder abuse cases are found within families and/or aged care facilities. It went into effect in 2006.
