精神保健及び精神障害者福祉に関する法律
Act on Mental Health and Welfare for the Mentally Disabled
精神障害者の医療や保護、社会復帰の促進、自立への援助、発生の予防などを行うことによって、福祉と国民の精神的な健康の向上を図ることを目的とする法律。1950年に精神衛生法として定められて、1987年に精神保健法に変わった。1995年の改正で現在の法律名となった。
A law aimed at improving welfare and the mental health of the people by providing medical care and protection for persons with mental disorders, promotion of social rehabilitation, assistance for independence, and prevention of occurrence of the disorder. It was enacted as the Mental Hygiene Law in 1950 and changed to the Mental Health Law in 1987. It became the current legal name in the 1995 revision.
