動脈がかたくなること。かたくなると、血液をうまく送れなくなって、心臓に負担がかかる。血管の内側が弱くなって、狭くなったり、詰まったりする。
The hardening of the arteries. When they become hardened, they cannot carry blood well, which puts a burden on the heart. This causes the inside of the blood vessels to become weak and narrow and/or clogged.
